HUNT SEAT EQUITATION
Open to Junior riders under 18 years of age.
Open Eq. NEHC “B”
1. NOVICE EQUITATION - FLAT Walk, Trot, Canter. Tests 1-7.
2. NOVICE EQUITATION - FENCES Fences not to exceed 2’9” in height. Tests 1-7.
3. OPEN EQUITATION - FLAT Under 18 Walk, Trot, Canter. Tests 1-19.
4. OPEN EQUITATION - FENCES Under 18 Fences not to exceed 3’0”. Tests 1-19.
5. MHC HUNT SEAT MEDAL CLASS Entry Fee: $30.00
Open to all members of MHC who have not reached their 18th birthday. All contestants are required to perform over at least eight fences not exceeding 3’3”. One or more individual tests of the top four contestants may be required at the judge’s discretion. To fill a class, at least four competitors must complete the course.
6. NEHC HUNT SEAT MEDAL CLASS Entry Fee: $30.00
Open to Junior members of the New England Horsemen’s Council who have not reached their 18th birthday. All contestants are required to perform over at least eight fences not exceed 3’3”. One or more individual tests of the top four contestants may be requested at the judge’s discretion. (USEF Tests 1 – 19). To fill a class, at least four competitors must complete the course. One win required for the finals.
7. PESSOA’S USEF HUNTER SEAT MEDAL CLASS Entry Fee: $30.00
Open to Junior members of the USEF who have not yet reached their 18th birthday. Application for membership may be made through the show steward.
8. ASPCA HORSEMANSHIP CLASS Entry Fee: $30.00
Permanent Championship Trophy of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, donated by the late Alfred B. Maclay. For Junior riders who have not reached their 18th birthday. No participant will be allowed in a class unless they are a Junior patron and must show their ASPCA number on the entry blank. Annual contributions shall be $15.00. Application for membership must be made directly to the Horsemanship Department, ASPCA, 441 East 92nd Street, New York, NY 10028.
9. USEF PONY MEDAL Entry Fee: $30.00
Open to Junior members of the USEF on ponies 14.2 hands and under. Exhibitors entered in this class cannot enter the USA Equestrian Medal class at the same show. Suitability of a pony will be emphasized.
10. MHC HUNT SEAT MINI-MEDAL Entry Fee: $30.00
Open to Junior members of the Mass. Horsemen’s Council who have not reached their 15th birthday and have not competed in classes in which the entry is required to jump higher than 3’0”. All competitors are to compete over a course not exceeding 8 fences and not less than 6, excluding combinations, at a height not to exceed 2’6”. One or more individual tests may be requested at the judge’s discretion (USEF Tests 1-15). To fill a class at least four competitors must complete the course.
11. STATE LINE TACK NATIONAL CHILDREN’S MEDAL
Entry Fee: $30.00
Open to Junior members of the USEF or CEF who have never competed in a National Equitation Finals with fences at 3’6” (i.e.: USEF Hunter Seat Medal, ASPCA Maclay, USET or CEF Finals, WIHS Capital Cup). All contestants are required to perform over at least 8 fences 2’9” to 3’0”, spreads not to exceed fence height, with at least two changes of direction and a combination. The top four riders, or 20% of the first round competitors, whichever is greater, are required to perform at least two individual tests from USEF Tests 1 – 19. An open numerical scoring system will be used in the first round.
12. MHC ADULT/AMATEUR HUNT SEAT MEDAL Entry Fee: $30.00
Open to adult members of MHC. All contestants are required top perform over at least 8 fences 2’6” to 2’9”, with at least one change of direction. One or more individual tests of the top four contestants may be requested at the judge’s discretion. (USAEQ Tests 1-17). To fill a class at least four competitors must complete the course.
13. NEHC ADULT/AMATEUR HUNT SEAT MEDAL Entry Fee: $30.00
All contestants are required to perform over at least 8 fences not to exceed 3’0”. One or more individual tests (USAEQ Tests 1- 17) of the top four competitors may be requested at the judge’s discretion. To fill a class at least four competitors must complete the course.
14. ARIAT NATIONAL ADULT MEDAL Entry Fee: $30.00
Open to all members of the USEF or CEF who are eligible to compete in the Amateur Adult Hunter section at this show. All competitors are required to perform over at least 8 fences 2’9” to 3’0”, spreads not to exceed fence height. The course may be either a jumper or hunter type course and must include at least two changes of direction a combi nation. Water obstacles not permitted. The top 4 riders, or 20% of the first round competitors, which ever is greater, are required to perform at least two individual tests from USEF Tests 1-19. An open numerical scoring system will be used in the first round. Class to be judged in accordance with current USEF standards for equitation.
50. GRANITE STATE ADULT MEDAL Entry Fee: $30.00
Open to amateur adults. Fences will not exceed 2’9”. Must be a member of the NHHJA to accumulate points for the finals.
51. GRANITE STATE JUNIOR MEDAL Entry Fee: $30.00
Open to junior rider under the age of 18. Fences not to exceed 3’0”. Must be a member of the NHHJA to accumulate points for the finals.
HUNTER DIVISIONS
CHILDREN’S HUNTER DIVISION
Rated “C” by USEF, NEHC “C”, MHC “C”
Open to Junior Exhibitors who are eligible for Intermediate Equitation as of December 1 of the current show year. Height of fences: 2’ for small/medium ponies, 2’6” for large ponies, 3’ for horses, spreads not to exceed fence height. The division may be split at the discretion of show management. Same horse/pony-rider combination cannot show in any other rated division except Equitation. Horses may be shown by another rider in any other division or section at the same show except Jr. Hunter. Ponies may not cross enter into the green or regular pony hunter divisions. Children’s Hunter riders may not show in any class where the fence heights exceed 3’6” at the same show. Jogging for soundness at the discretion of the judge.

AMATEUR ADULT HUNTER DIVISION
Rated “C” by USEF, Rated “B” by NEHC & MHC “A”
To be ridden by Amateurs who are no longer eligible to compete as Junior Exhibitors. Horse/rider combinations are not eligible for any other USEF rated classes. Horses may be shown by a different rider in any other division or class at the same competition. To be judged on performance, soundness, manners, way of going, size of rider to mount, and suitability as an Adult Amateur Hunter. Horses and ponies may be jogged for soundness at Judge’s discretion. Height of fences 3’, spreads not to exceed height of fence. Ponies may be ridden by adults, suitability to count.

Open to riders 12 years of age or under. Not to compete in any other equitation class at any other show and has not competed in a jumping class over 18” in height.
